Back from a weekend party!!!

Hello all you wonderful people who didn’t give a shit about me disappearing for more than 3 months in a row. Hmpfff. I could have been angry with you and not posted anything but since I am all angelic, I’ll tell you what I was upto!!

Firstly, I was loaded with files and files of work I absolutely loved to do! When that was done, Happy took ill and was hospitalised for 4 days. All’s well now. He had bronchitis but we’re good now!

And to recuperate from all this madness, we planned a wonderful weekend at a beach resort in our own state Gujarat! What you thought Gujju people only went to Diu and Daman? Wrong, weren’t you?

There’s this beautiful district called Kutch of “Kutch nahi dekha to kuch nahi dekha” fame and in it, is a serene place called Mandvi! We stayed at a resort called the Mandvi Beach Resort, which is a private beach of the royal family of Mandvi! The place is so beautiful that we didn’t even go to take a peek in the Palace which was only a kilometer away!

Look at this sparrow sunbathing after sunrise! It was so peaceful, you could sleep on the beach itself and never wake up!

We lived in tents like these:

And so end the three months of hibernation from my go-to-place-for-talking-out!

Pointers for Mandvi Beach Resort:

  • The longest private beach in India – 1.5 kms of private beach! Match that!
  • Sandy beach, no little pebbles trying to break into your feet!
  • Clean, well maintained resort
  • No mobile connectivity, no internet, not even intercom! May be a problem for some. But for me, it was the best chance to disconnect and be happy!
  • Bargain shopping at local market – amazing embroidered clothes for unbeatable prices – I am not advertising! 😛
  • The food is delicious
  • Gujarat people can easily plan a weekend getaway. We went by train to Bhuj and hired a taxi to the resort (overnight in train, an hour by taxi)

How have you all been? Any awesome places you visited?

I am back!!

Hi all! I am back from the wonderful trip to Madhya Pradesh!

It is such a beautiful place! I think we under-rate India as a place of travel too much! India indeed has a variety to offer for travel enthusiasts! MP has never been charted well on the travel map of India. It has always been Kashmir, Kerala, Goa and few cities here and there! But hey, I went to MP to find that it is only under-publicised!

The parks I visited – Kanha National Park and Bandhavgarh National Park are well maintained. Or at least better maintained than we expect them to! The locals have started supporting the park, knowing that many of them get employment (as naturalists, guides, etc. in the park / the nearby resorts coming due to the park). Poaching is negligible. Wildlife is in a better place than it used to be 10 years ago and there are organisations interested in promoting wildlife and preserving the sanctuaries!

We managed to click a few good pictures (still learning) and will put them up in coming days. Only, there was no network (mobile / internet) in those places and hence, could not upload them right away! In a way, no network happened to be a boon! Me and Simba spent time to ourselves, explored the villages, went cycling, bird-watching and talking to the naturalists in the hotels who had wonderful stories to tell about tigers in those parks!

So how did you all celebrate the 31st? Me and Simba were in train, on our way back surrounded by snoring men!! hahaha.. Had an amazing trip though..!

Ho ho ho!!!

Being educated in a Convent school gives you a nostalgic feeling in Christmas! The excitement of decorations, the group discussions on how to enact the Christmas story, the Secret Santa gifts, the carols, chocolates, freshly baked cakes and the general festive mood! Oooh.. That is what defines Christmas for me!

And to top it, your birthday arrives just after Christmas!

And then, your husband books a wonderful trip for your birthday!

Could it get any better guys? ❤ ❤ ❤

I know I have been talking about this December trip to lot many of you and here it is. Just 2 more days to go!!! And we’ll be off!

Oh! How I love holidays! The long train journey, the unhealthy but delicious train cutlets, the first look at your selected hotel/resort out of photographs, the views, the roaming around hand in hand with Simba, the laughter, the moments, the joys….. I can’t have enough of it!

So the bags are packed, the munching snacks bought, the camera charged, iPod loaded, new hair-cut done, tickets printed! All I need to do now is to go and sit in the train to begin my holiday officially!

As the 2014 comes to an end, I’d like to thank all of you, every single one of you who follow, read and comment on my posts. I love you all. And I wish all of you a very merry Christmas! And wish you have a blast at the year end and also begin the 2015 with new hopes and aspirations! May Santa gift you peace and joy!

And to the ones who write brilliant posts and keep me stuck to my screen – YOU people are responsible for my spectacles! Not my reading habits nor my over-enthusiasm to get specs since the last 10 years 😛 😉 Yeah…. Finally I succeeded in getting spectacles. I love them!!! Haha.. So thank you all. Keep writing! Wish you luck!

Hey, I needed to tell you this too: Since Simba has taken up photography as a hobby, we both wish to do some posts on travel in the following week to check out whether we are able to blog as wonderfully as TraBlogger does or as Anoop had done last month! Also, would be posting from my new twitter handle. Wish us luck and do let me know how you like it! I just hope the internet at the resort works well to support our new mission!

Ciao amigos! See you in 2015! ❤
